- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Candy eyes
- Melted chocolate or chocolate chips
- Mini peanut butter cups or chocolate-covered candies
- Pretzel sticks licorice strings, or chocolate drizzle
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Roll dough into 1-tablespoon balls and place 2 inches apart on the baking sheet. Flatten slightly with a spoon.
Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft. Cool slightly on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
Press a mini peanut butter cup or chocolate candy into the center of each cookie for the bug body.
Melt chocolate and use it to attach candy eyes. Add pretzel sticks or licorice for legs, or drizzle chocolate for fine details.
Let the decorated cookies set until chocolate hardens. Serve or store as desired.
